Following are the basic requirements:
Basic Requirements
- Perl - Perl 5.005 or later is required to run DCForum on your
server. To find out what version your server supports, please
contact your hosting company.

your Web site. Typically, cgi scripts are stored and executed in a

company if your web account has CGI access.

- Unzip utility - DCForum program is distributed in a ZIP file
format. You will need a utility to unzip the file. If you do not own
one, please check out WinZip.
Additional Requirements For UNIX/Linux Servers
- Ability to change directory/file permissions. Normally, a
function called "chmod" is used to perform this task.
- Sendmail - To utilize DCForum's email features, sendmail must be
enabled on your server. In most cases, sendmail is available.
Additional Requirements For NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Servers
- SMTP email server
- Ability to change folder permission to FULL CONTROL for EVERYONE
- You will need to ask your hosting company to set folder
permissions unless a browser-based admin menu is available with your
account.
